Strategic Planning
When appropriate, JLC Business Services can undertake a Strategic Planning Study to assist firms in determining how to make the best use of IT to improve business practices. The Strategic Planning Study will consider the firm's overall business objectives, taking into account the existing IT infrastructure. This helps to establish the business case to senior management and produce a realistic, fully-costed strategy for achieving goals.
Client Requirement Interviews
Experienced JLC Business Services consultants will conduct structured interviews with key people within the client firm, to determine the business and IT priorities. Working closely with the client, JLC Business Services will help to determine and confirm the Business Requirements and Objectives of the proposed project to ensure that all the requirements have been covered.
Needs Analysis
A detailed needs analysis will be prepared from the information gained at the Client Requirement Interviews. Following initial system recommendations, JLC Business Services develops, with the firm, a working prototype that offers the benefit of testing the new system to ensure that it meets its business and technical requirements. Prototype testing highlights any adjustments that may be required and allows them to be made at an early stage. The prototype can also be used for management and user briefings to help acceptance of the new system.
Capacity & Resource Planning
The project plans that JLC Business Services prepares will include hardware and software recommendations, with indicative costs. Once the prototype has been accepted, a training plan and implementation timetable is prepared. This will highlight internal and external resource requirements. Where resource may be limited, JLC Business Services will assist the firm in the actual deployment of standard workstations and user training. It is important not to underestimate the level of support users will require when returning from training and faced with using the new system. Support is normally provided by "hand holding" for approximately two days by support personnel or "super users".
